About the Program

Triad mentorship pairings

We do our best to pair prospective MPH/MSc/MHA students with students in their programs of interest at Canadian universities, as well as pairing current MPH/MSc/MHA students or recent graduates with public health professionals in their fields of interest.

The program only requires participation for 1-2 hours each month across four months - meant to not disrupt your studies and work!

organized workshops

We organize a number of professional development workshops for mentors and mentees alike, on topics including:

  • Writing a Letter of Intent

  • Master’s studying tips

  • Securing a practicum

  • Writing a skills-based resume

  • Finding jobs after graduation

free resources

To ensure that mentors and mentees get the most out of their partnership, we supply them with monthly newsletters including recommended topics of conversation and resources to support their monthly mentorship meetings and advance their relationship.

FAQs

  • We recognize that all participants lead busy lives with school and work, so we only ask that you spend 1-2 hours each month meeting with your mentorship pairing and attending our organized workshops.

Each program cohort takes place across FOUR months.

  • You have a Master of Public Health (MPH)(or a similar degree) AND/OR have been working and gaining incredible experience for at least 1 year in the field of public health since graduation.

  • SENIOR MENTEE

You are a current Master of Public Health (MPH) student seeking support from an established public health professional on taking the next steps of your career. You’re also willing to support a prospective student who needs help navigating the applications and educational transition you’re currently experiencing!

    JUNIOR MENTEE

You are interested in pursuing a Master of Public Health (MPH)(or similar degree) and want to be paired with a current student/recent graduate who can share their experience.

  • Yes! While we will do our best to try to pair mentors and mentees in the same area (in which case you can totally both meet up in person if you’re comfortable!), we want to make the program as accessible as possible (also recognizing that MPH program are often distance education and students are spread across Canada). We hope to pair mentees interested/currently attending the same MPH program with a current alumni where possible. We will focus on pairings based on areas of interest over geography. Everyone has something to learn from their pairings!

  • Absolutely!

We are super passionate about making public health accessible to all. :)

  • Unfortunately at this time, we are focusing our energy on hosting the program with public health students and professionals working and living in Canada (for ease of timezones).
